Dark Skies Run

Set alongside beautiful Kielder water, the route follows the winding paths encompassing the reservoir, surrounded by forest.

Based within Northumberland National Park, a recognised dark sky reserve, Kielder offers a fantastic opportunity on a clear night to view some of the best dark skies in the UK.

The marathon starts just before sunset, so you’ll run almost the entirety of this race in the dark.

The trail is easy under foot but hillier than you expect.

A well organised event with friendly volunteers and a great atmosphere.

The carpark was a short walk away but there is opportunity to drop a bag to change at the end of the race.
