Spectacular Race, with very technical terrain. Starting with a long and steep climb the route reaches a high-altitude section alternating between runnable stretches and technical, exposed zones. It features a snowfield with fixed ropes and small rock drops equipped with fixed ropes and metal steps in a highly exposed area. The race guide did not describe this well, referring to it simply as a ‘secured exposed section.’ Unfortunately, some participants DNFed because they felt unprepared for this specific part. A brief yet more detailed description of the difficulty—despite the section being short and manned by staff—would have been useful to ensure runners were fully aware. The views here are amazing, right in front of Monte Bianco. After this technical section the Trail becomes easier to run, with a last short and steep climb then descending to the valley. The Aid stations and refreshments are few and quite distant from each other, but the volunteer are really kind and available. Overall it is a beautiful but hard race.
