This race is set in the stunningly beautiful Lake District and takes you up several Wainrights including Robinson, Haystacks, High Stile, Red Pike and Dale Head. There are some steep ascents and descents, some very short technical rocky bits, all with views across the Lake District, including Buttermere water.
You are provided with a tracker and the race itself was well marshalled along the route.
The aid station at Honnister slate mine was well stocked with various sandwiches, cakes, snacks and drinks available, with a warm welcome from the staff/volunteers.
Although not very big, the village at the start/finish had a small amount of tents with some merchandise on offer, a place to get refreshments including coffee and cake and an area of seating.
Overall, a well run and enjoyable event with a challenging course.
