Pedrafroca X Trail

One of the most beautiful race loops in the Catalan Pyrenees. It starts in the small town of Saldes and runs through undulating pine forests on mostly runnable single track trail for the first 4-5 kms, then climbs approx 1200 meters over 5 kms up to the top of a pass.
It drops down on mostly runnable single track rocky trails then levels out to undulating terrain through pine forest until reaching a refuge. After this there’s a steep technical climb up to a plateau and the halfway point of the race.
Then there’s a long downhill that’s mostly runnable and fast, down through the pine forest into the town of Gosol at 30kms.
The last 12kms winds through a mix of farmland and pine forests, with a short steep climb a few kms from the finish up to another refuge, then its approx 3kms down through pine forest to the finish in Saldes.
The loop goes around the entire mountain of Pedraforca and has incredible views!
