Ticino 500: What It’s Really Like to Run 500 km and 40,000m of Elevation
500 km. 40,000 metres of elevation gain. Almost no sleep. A backpack weighing up to 12 kg. And, at one point, around 20 km without water. What does it actually feel like to take on a trail race of this magnitude? After 150 km, Alessandro spent around 20 km without water under the midday sun. During the first 36 hours, he slept for just seven minutes. His backpack reached 12 kg, and with aid stations around 50 km apart, managing hydration and food became a challenge in itself. They cover distances from around 100 km to 160 km, combining very different types of terrain and offering everything from Mediterranean landscapes to historic French villages, forests and demanding mountain trails. Whether you

Deep Japan Ultra Review: One Runner’s Experience in Rural Japan & an Exclusive Interview with Founder Matsunaga-san
By TrailRunAdvisor Ambassador Alex Schubach There are trail races that take you into the mountains, and then there are races that take you somewhere you probably never would have discovered otherwise. For me, Deep Japan Ultra was very much the latter. Travelling from Tokyo to the rural mountains of Niigata Prefecture, I came expecting a challenging 80-kilometre ultra marathon. I left with something much more meaningful: a deeper appreciation of rural Japan, its people, and a race that is built around far more than simply reaching the finish line. After the event, I had the opportunity to speak with Deep Japan Ultra founder Matsunaga-san, and many of the experiences I had during the race suddenly made sense. His philosophy perfectly explained why this event feels

MyVibe Bone Conduction Headphones Review for Running
If you like listening to music, podcasts or audio while running, choosing the right headphones is not as simple as it sounds. For road running, trail running and long-distance training, you want headphones that stay in place, remain comfortable for several hours and, importantly, allow you to hear what is happening around you. This is where bone conduction and open-ear headphones have become increasingly popular. Shokz is probably the best-known name in this category, but there are now several alternatives worth considering. We recently tested the MyVibe bone conduction headphones while training for some of the races we review, including longer sessions, and there was one characteristic that stood out above everything else: comfort. MyVibe headphones: what are they? MyVibe is a French brand offering
