The Cheviots Challenge is an annual fundraising event for Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team, ran by trail race organisers Trail Outlaws.
There are several race categories on offer including a fun run, short run or long run, as well as walking options.
The trail is set in beautiful Northumberland National Park and takes you up to Windy Gyle on the border ridge where on a clear day, there are views over to Scotland.
A hilly route but with a low key and cheerful atmosphere. The event is supported by the mountain rescue team who along with other volunteers, man checkpoints throughout the course offering refreshments to runners.
It starts and finishes in Alwinton where many racers meet in the local pub for food or drink afterwards.
