I completed the 160k race in 2025. Although a few months have passed since my running of this race, the memories are still vivid and absolutely incredible! What a beautiful race!

The course is challenging with proper elevation gain, but I did not find it as technical as we see in the Canadian forests (low altitude) with roots and rocks.

Recommendation for runners: heat training is a MUST!

I would have liked more variety of foods at the aid stations.

(Unfortunately) It is a matter of time, in my opinion, that this race becomes impossible to get into as everyone will want a bib.

I did this race last year, it was a tough but beautiful race, every twist and turn had a beautiful landscape. I just was just staring in awe of the beauty. It was a tough race, the first section was the never ending hill and the terrain was a challenge but it pushes you to do your best. The whole organisation, communication, set up was at the highest standard. Even having the metro so close to the start really help with getting around. I’m so glad I found this race whilst it’s growing, give it a few years and watch it become a race that everyone wants to get in.

Build up – Great communication with the race director Jakob, he was a true gentleman and answered any questions making the build up very exciting and positive.

When I arrived – We arrived in Fiesch as strangers, but straight away bumped into more runners at registration calming any nerves and felt very welcomed in the smooth process to gather my number. The place was lit up and really had an ‘event’feel and not just a turn up and run race.

Morning of race – everything ran smoothly, tracker was great and any last minute questions where answered. The people and organisers really set the scene for excitement.

The race – where to begin? Nothing about this race was easy and it isn’t for your beginner ultra runners, because straight away your into a climb that lasts forever, the altitude becomes to feel unforgiving and the heat was incredible. This race in a few years is going to be in the same league as UTMB and others. Amongst the difficulty lay beautiful views, incredible trails to run on and unbelievable support at the aid stations. The descents where a welcome after the long climbs but towards the end I didn’t know if I wanted to climb or run downhill…because towards the end I enjoyed reaching the top of some of the high points.

The night – it was fantastic and the stars looked like diamonds glistening your way forward, which was easily mistaken for the shine of the crystal sand tgat glittered beneath your feet in the light of your headtorch.

Overall – Fiesch is a fantastic village, really picturesque and a place you must visit. Don’t be surprised by the warm climate and be prepared, this race is no joke but it is an adventure you’ll never forget. One day I’ll be back to do it again!
