The Green Man Ultra is a 45-mile / 74km loop of outer Bristol, following a mainly-trail footpath. There's mainly really nice scenery, although also some sections where you need to run through fairly urban areas. There were a scattering of marshalls along the course but the majority of the event requires self navigation, so it depends on how you feel about that. There were a number of times I went the wrong way but I was expecting that. Like a lot of events these days, it's not cheap (£100) and you don't seem to get too much for that compared to a number of other races I've competed in. The options at the 4 checkpoints were OK - better than were described by previous entrants so perhaps that has been a conscious improvement.
