Love Trails Festival (Golden Trails National Series)

This event was my first Golden Trails race but unfortunately I won’t be in a rush to enter one of their others in the future. The race started and finished at the Love Trails festival so there was a good atmosphere created at the start as there were more spectators than would probably normally be at a race, plus music and a PA announcer. Unfortunately, on several occasions, the signage on the course was missing or difficult to see which meant that a number of runners went off-course (some multiple times), with many not realising that needed to continue at the first checkpoint/aid station, meaning that they ran at least 5km less which will skew their finish times and position, and everyone else’s. As I write (4 days afterwards), the results still haven’t been published.
